Attorneys
Ali Marchant practices primarily in the areas of workers compensation and civil litigation. She regularly appears in workers compensation proceedings and has successfully written and argued multiple appeals before the Kansas Workers Compensation Board of Appeals. Ms. Marchant also maintains an active civil litigation practice defending insurance carriers and their insureds in personal injury litigation.
Ms. Marchant was born in Watonga, Oklahoma in 1975. She attended the University of Kansas and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Journalism with an emphasis in Business Communications. She received her Juris Doctor from Washburn University School of Law, cum laude, in December 2006. While at Washburn, Ms. Marchant was a member of the Washburn Law Journal and authored Bargaining for Freedom: Kansas Allows Criminal Defendants to Avoid Plea Agreement Sentences but Binds the State to Its Deals [State v. Boley, 113 P.3d 248 (Kan. 2005)], 45 Washburn L.J. 467 (2006). Ms. Marchant joined Fleeson, Gooing, Coulson & Kitch, LLC in 2007.
Ms. Marchant is active in both the Wichita community and bar. She is a member of the Kansas and Wichita Bar Associations and the Kansas Association of Defense Counsel and is active in the Wichita Bar Association Young Lawyers. Ms. Marchant has served as the Programs Co-Chair for the Wichita Women Attorneys Association and is President-Elect of that organization for 2012-13. She is a member of the Young Professionals of Wichita and is currently a participant in the inaugural YP Wichita Leadership Academy class. Ms. Marchant also volunteers for the United Way serving on an allocation panel.
