
Adam Burrus was born in Wichita, Kansas, in 1983. He attended Saint Louis University where he double-majored in Finance and Economics and received his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration (cum laude) in 2006. He received his Juris Doctor from Washburn University School of Law in 2009, earning a Certificate in Business and Transactional Law (with distinction).
Mr. Burrus joined Fleeson Gooing in 2009 and became a member of the firm in 2016. He represents businesses and individual clients in every facet of the legal process, including arbitration, mediation, and litigation. His practice is focused on representing clients in the areas of construction and business litigation, creditor’s rights, bankruptcy, and insurance defense. He has advised general contractors, subcontractors, and suppliers in matters involving construction defect claims and mechanic’s lien filings. He has also advised business clients on various breach of contract and collections issues.
Mr. Burrus is a member of the Kansas and Wichita Bar Associations. He is a former member of the WBA Board of Governors, and he is actively involved with the Kansas Association of Defense Counsel and various alumni associations. He was also a member of the inaugural class of the Wichita Business Journal’s Emerging Leaders program in 2015, and was a member of the Wichita Business Journal’s 40 Under 40 Class of 2018. Mr. Burrus has also been named a Civil Litigation Rising Star in the 2016-2022 editions of Super Lawyers for Missouri and Kansas. In 2022, he was named a fellow of the Construction Lawyers Society of America.
In his spare time, Mr. Burrus enjoys reading, spending time with his friends and family, and attending various sporting and live music events. He stays active by playing golf and bicycling, and he enjoys boating and other outdoor activities.
