James P. Keating

Associate

James Keating was born and raised in Pueblo, Colorado. He attended The University of Colorado Colorado Springs where he received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and Philosophy. Mr. Keating received his Juris Doctorate, summa cum laude, from Washburn University School of Law in May of 2026 and joined Fleeson Gooing in September.

While at Washburn, Mr. Keating served as the Notes Editor of the Washburn Law Journal and the Vice President of Washburn Law’s Chess Club. He earned eight CALI awards for having the top grade in a particular course and was awarded an A with Distinction in both Evidence and Professional Responsibility.

Outside of work, Mr. Keating enjoys spending time with family and friends, golfing, watching movies, and going to Planet Fitness. He is also an instrumental player for Fleeson Gooing’s Lawyer League Softball team.
