Associate

Born and raised in Wichita, John Ralston graduated at the top of his class from Washburn University School of Law in the spring of 2022. He previously graduated summa cum laude from Friends University where he earned his Bachelor’s degree. After working for two years as a law clerk for the Honorable Eric F. Melgren of the United States District Court for the District of Kansas, Mr. Ralston joined Fleeson Gooing in September of 2024.

During law school, Mr. Ralston served as a Notes Editor for the Washburn Law Journal and as Treasurer for his chapter of the Christian Legal Society. He earned nine CALI awards for having the top grade in a particular course, and was the recipient of the Judge J. Richard Roth Writing Award, the Delmas Hill Scholarship, the Romano-Drill Scholarship Award, and the J.L. Weigand Legal Education Trust Scholarship. To gain practical experience while in law school, Mr. Ralston became one of the first participants in Washburn’s new Third Year Anywhere Program by interning with a Wichita law firm during his third year.

In his free time, Mr. Ralston is an active member of his community. He enjoys volunteering with Juniper Arts Academy, performing as a pianist or singer for special events, and trying new restaurants around Wichita.
