
Mike Cannady grew up in Augusta, Kansas. He received his Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Wichita State University, graduating magna cum laude, in 1985, and his Juris Doctor, with honors, from Washburn University School of Law in 1988. In 1995, Mr. Cannady received a Master of Laws degree in Taxation from the University of Missouri-Kansas City.
Mr. Cannady practices in the area of Estate Planning, which includes the drafting of wills, revocable trusts, and related documents; structuring wealth transfers to individuals and charities through irrevocable trusts and other arrangements; complex planning associated with business succession issues; preparing gift, estate, and generation-skipping tax returns; and advising fiduciaries on administration of estates and trusts.
Mr. Cannady also practices in the areas of Business and Corporate Law, which includes forming corporations, limited liability companies, partnerships, and other business entities, and assisting clients with the ongoing management of those entities.
Mr. Cannady is a member of the Wichita Bar Association (Probate Committee) and the Kansas Bar Association (Real Estate, Probate & Trust Section).
Active in service of his community, Mr. Cannady is a member of the Wichita Estate Planning Forum, president of Home Technology Solutions, Inc., (formerly Wichita Lifeline, Inc.), past president of the Butler County Bar Association, Augusta United Way and the Augusta Optimist Club, and past treasurer of the Wichita-Sedgwick County Historical Museum. He has made numerous presentations before various groups regarding Estate and Business Planning and Charitable Giving.
Mr. Cannady previously practiced law at a firm in Butler County and was also a Vice President in the Wealth Management Department of Intrust Bank, N.A.
