Megan L. Townsley

Born and raised in the Wichita area, Megan L. Townsley attended the University of Kansas where she earned her Bachelor of Science in Journalism with a Minor in Psychology. She received her Juris Doctor from Washburn University School of Law in 2015.

In law school, Ms. Townsley authored a published Note, Is There Any Body Out There? A call for a New Body of Law to Protect Individual Ownership Interests in Tissue Samples Used in Medical Research, 54 Washburn L.J. 101 (2015), and received the John F. Kuether Memorial Faculty Award for “Best Note.” Additionally, she served as the Research Editor for Volume 54 of the Washburn Law Journal. After practicing in the area of criminal defense for several years, Ms. Townsley joined Fleeson Gooing in April of 2022.

Ms. Townsley is a member of the Kansas Bar Association and the Wichita Bar Association including the Wichita Women Attorneys Association, Young Lawyers Section, and Professional Diversity Committee. She is also a member of the Wesley E. Brown American Inn of Court. Ms. Townsley was also a member of the Wichita Business Journal Emerging Leaders for 2019-2020. In her free time, Ms. Townsley is an avid hiker and camper, enjoys photography and gardening, and is a committed fan of KU basketball.
