KBA Leadership Institute 24 - Megan Townsley Participates in KBA Leadership Institute - Fleeson LawFleeson Gooing associate attorney Megan Townsley was recently selected as one of only ten members of the Kansas Bar Association Leadership Institute Class of 2024.

Members of the class met in Topeka on February 14-15 for various activities. The class attended a panel discussion on Wednesday evening with former Rep. Brad Ralph, his wife Dr. Shannon Ralph, KLS Executive Director Matt Keenan, contract lobbyist Whitney Damron, and Miss Kansas USA 2023 Haley Berger. The speakers shared their experiences on using their assets and engagement to help their communities.

On Thursday, the class heard from Chief Justice Marla Luckert of the Kansas Supreme Court and Chief Judge Karen Arnold-Burger of the Kansas Court of Appeals about the inner workings of the Kansas Judicial Center and the projects the court is working on this year. The group then visited the Kansas Capitol, visited with state senators, attended a committee meeting, and had a lunch CLE with Kansas Disciplinary Administrator Gayle Larkin.

They ended the day attending the KBA’s Court Appreciation dinner at Topeka Country Club where they met with Supreme Court justices, Court of Appeals judges, and several members of the federal bench.

Fleeson Gooing was one of seven Kansas law firms to sponsor the Leadership Institute.
