WEB Kitch RETAKE 003 - Tom Kitch Marks 50 Years of Practice - Fleeson LawThe attorneys of Fleeson Gooing are pleased to congratulate their colleague Tom Kitch as he marks 50 years in the practice of law, all of which have been with the firm.

A native of Wichita, Tom received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Yale University in 1966 and his Juris Doctor degree from the University of Chicago in 1969. After passing the bar exam that same year, Tom joined
Fleeson, Gooing, Coulson & Kitch, where his father Paul was a name partner.

Over the past 50 years, Tom has had a central role in some of the most significant and complex matters handled by the firm. In particular, Tom led successful litigation efforts in numerous oil and gas royalty class actions brought on behalf of Kansas landowners. He continues to be actively involved in these cases today.

Tom’s involvement also was integral to the success of class action litigation pursued over a number of years by the firm and other lawyers on behalf of African American railroad chair car attendants who had been subject to a discriminatory seniority system.

Tom has also been a guiding influence in the careers of a generation of Fleeson attorneys. His wisdom and legal acumen have been central to the firm’s past and ongoing success, and for that, we thank him.
